We are excited to be celebrating the 2nd Birthday of the online store tomorrow!

It is amazing to see all the lovely things we have done in the past few years from goregous products, pretty parties, photoshoots and lots of special things in between.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support over the past few years.  As a small business I am constantly needing to evolve and keep things exciting for both my customers and for myself so you will notice a few small changes to all I am doing over the coming months – the online store will continue and there will changes to product lines so I can keep the balance between current projects and future projects (and life at home with 3 kids) in check.  There are lots of great dreams I still want to fulfil and I hope over the next year I can tick some of these off my list.

So to celebrate my turning two I have a few things planned – a Giveaway that I know you will love followed by lots of lovely specials in the store over the next week!

First up is the giveaway – you guessed it, my absolute favourite product in the entire store!  A 25cm white milk glass cake stand!  They are truly the most beautiful stands in the whole world – elegant, tall and make any cake look spectacular.

I have one of these beauties to giveaway and all you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post telling me how you found sweet style? Was it Facebook, a link from another blog, a magazine or have you been following along from the beginning – before I was Sweet Style!

The winner will be announced next Friday 7th June right here on the blog! Entry only open to Australian residents.

Each day next week I will have a different super special in the store so be on the lookout for facebook announcements.

I have also put together a media kit with details about advertising on the blog!  If you would like to be part of the coming year with Sweet Style I would love to hear from you by emailing leanne@sweetstyle.com.au.

Yay I have finally had time to sort through the photos from Sofia’s 7th Birthday party that we held back in March.

For this party we decided on an Art theme as Sofia just loves art!  We held the party at a local art centre and the kids had a fabulous time painting their own canvas pictures which they got to take home.

Once we had decided on the art party I talked to Li-Ann from Ham & Pea Design and Paperie to create a lovely invitation using the colours of jade green and pink – her design was just perfect and I styled the rest of the party around her Pantone style invitation.  I love that her name and other elements of the party is the pantone colour throughout.  Very cool to have your own Pantone colour!

The amazing cookies that matched the invitations were made by the clever Noo from Dessert Menu Please – so lovely I really didn’t want anyone to eat them!  Cakes, cupcakes and sweet marshmallow treats where my by my lovely friend Jacki from Blissfully Sweet Cakes.  The two tone cake pops are by M’s Cake Pop Shop.  Please see the bottom of the post for links to their pages!

I used a collection of my milk glass cake stands plus art canvas’ to display the food which included cupcakes, cake pops, marshmallow treats, cookies and pretzel paint sticks.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

Today’s Monday Favourite cakes are by one of the sweetest Sydney cakers that I have the pleasure of knowing.

Jhoanne who is the master caker behind It’s a Cake Thing creates beautiful cakes and is also known here in Sydney as the queen of the macarons.  I have tasted plently of her delicious delights and I can definitely say they are good!

Jhoanne found a passion for cake decorating just 5 years ago when her second child turned one (Jho now has 4 children!).  Jho thought it would be nice, but more like a little challenge to herself, to go that extra mile of making her daughters cake on top of organising her 1st big birthday bash!

It wasn’t until a year or two later that this passion became a business.  The most popular flavour for childrens cakes is the yummy, light and fluffy chocolate cake and the adults tend to go for the richer mudcakes.  All of Jho’s cakes are layered with ganache and that’s just the way the customers like it!

To see all of Jhoanne’s fabulous work please visit her facebook page here or her website here.
