Mr A and I recently took a wonderful child free trip to Bali!   Bali really is my most favourite country in the world to visit so when the opportunity to bid on a trip to go there at last years Stillbirth Foundation Charity Ball came up, we jumped at it!  We were joined by Mr A’s cousins and the 6 of us had an amazing week relaxing, shopping and EATING!

This was my 10th trip to Bali and the first time staying in a villa in the Umala’s area.  The villa was beautiful and the staff just wonderful.  It also happened to be my birthday while we were there so we made sure to check out some of the newer restaurants that have popped up since our last trip 6 years ago.

Here is a selection of my favourite shots from our week away!

We can’t wait to head back to Bali again – so much so that we have already booked to take the girls back with us in July this year!

Yesterday was one of those great days!  A day when you arrive home with a cheesy grin and a little happy dance.   I was lucky enough to be invited along by none other than the gorgeous Chantelle from Fat Mum Slim fame to an Olympus Australia event at Otto Restaurant in Sydney.  A day where I got to combine so many things I love into a fun three hours.

So highlight number one was finally meeting Chantelle in real life!  Chantelle and I have known each other online for some time now so finally getting to spend some time with her was wonderful.  She is just a warm and incredibly humble as she comes across on her blog – a true delight to be around!

Chantelle started by presenting each of her 10 guests with a beautifully wrapped gift including the cutest little mini camera, some chocolates and a photo a day keepsake book! The perfect momento’s!

Next up was the opportunity to test out the Olympus OM-D camera which is from the Olympus range of compact SLR cameras.  The camera has interchangeable lenses and can be used in either auto or manual mode just like the regular SLR but it is light and easy to carry around – perfect for those who want control over what they are doing and the ability to upgrade the lens but don’t want to have to take their “big” camera out on every outing.

Honestly it is the perfect option for people like me – I currently have one of two options, my big baby that weighs a tone but I am very very attached to or my iPhone which sometimes just doesn’t cut it.

One of my favourite features from this camera is the wifi connectivity.  You take the photo and send it to your phone or other device so you can share it straight away or back it up! Perfect.

It also has a remote function that means you can set your camera up and operate it from your phone.

There really was so much to love about the camera so I am really grateful for the opportunity to give it a go!
Here are a few snaps I took on the day (and sent straight to my phone so I could bring them home with me when I had to hand the camera back!)

Thanks Chantelle and Olympus for a fantastic day!

So it is a wrap for my month of creative work with Royal Albert Australia.  I hope you have enjoyed a look at some of these gorgeous products.  It is wonderful how the products can slot into different aspects of life – whether it be for drink tea, displaying flowers on the table, holding supplies on your desk and of course celebrating with cupcakes!  They are perfect for a beautiful tea party or your afternoon cup of tea with a magazine!

All the products seen on can be purchased by visiting the Royal Albert store here.  Here is a look back at how I used my favourites from the range.

It is always fun when you get invited to test out something new, especially when it involves food and a celebrity chef!  Yesterday just happened to be one of those days and I got to go along to meet Heston Blumenthal at the launch of his new range of foods for Coles.

With the amazing autumn weather we are having here in Sydney at the moment Coles could not have picked a better location for the shindig with the city sparkling from the view in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

We were served delicious samples from Hestons new products which range from delicious sauches to burgers, sausages, meats and pies.

I got to sample the slow cooked asian pork sandwiches and I can tell you without doubt it was the best pork I have ever tasted.  Heston has used lots of interesting Aussie flavours in the food which was wonderful to see and taste.

One important question for me was when is the sweet range arriving!  Luckily for those of us in the dessert business and with a sweet tooth it is not long away with plans to further increase the range throughout the year.

You can find Heston’s new range of 15 different products in Coles stores nationally or visit the website hestonforcoles.com.au for more info!

It really has been a busy start to the year with a number of new and exciting opportunities for me and Sweet Style, all of which include working with some wonderful and creative people.

One of those opportunities is the position I have taken up with Sweet Magazine as their Style Editor.  Lisa Brown is the editor of this new magazine that hit news stands earlier this year.  I came on board mid issue 2 and there are two articles in this edition that I have written – the first being the interview I did with party girls Kara Allen, Sarah Osmotherly and Claire Casey during the Confetti Fair and Kara’s Party Idea’s Workshop Tour earlier this year.  Such crazy and fun girls with a wonderful attitude and enthusiasm for this exciting industry we are all part of.

The second article is on the dessert table I created for Sofia’s 7th Birthday last year which includes a fantastic tutorial  by Noo from Dessert Menu Please, on those ever so cute cookies that she created for me.

You can find your copy of Sweet Magazine in leading newsagencies around Australia.   It is also available for purchase for your iPad by visiting the Sweet Magazine website here.
