We had a wonderful day celebrating Sofia’s 5th Birthday last weekend and I am so excited to show you the pictures from the day.

Our theme was a Bubblegum and Soda Disco Party with the colours for the party being Yellow, Pink and Blue.
First of all a party invite was designed and I really wanted it to include an old fashioned gum ball machine.  My original inspiration for the colour theme came from the lovely colours of the bon bon lollies which I wanted to include on the dessert table – not only are the colours beautiful but they taste delicious as well.
And here is the dessert table …
I cannot tell you how excited I was when Jacki from Blissfully Sweet Cakes arrived with the Gumball machine cake – yes that is a cake and it matched the invite perfectly.
Truly amazing is how I describe Jacki’s cakes – this one was a lemon poppyseed cake and it was delicious!

Last week I posted about being in the moment so I thought it would be a great reminder for me to do a post each week about being in the moment – something that I find in my day to day life that reminds me to be just that.  My love of photography certainly reminds me of this as it helps me to stop and take things in – I have learnt to have my camera handy at all times and snap away at things I love, things that inspire.

Combined with my photography I love flowers and this week I purchased these gorgeous daliah’s – they certainly remind me to stop and smell the roses … be in the moment … I hope you find time this week to be in the moment.

Have had a few very exciting emails today – it has caught me completely by surprise – I have been nominated as one of the Top 25 Party Plannin Moms over on Circle of Moms.  Certainly didn’t see that coming but I am very excited to say the least.  I have never really been nominated for any awards and to be in the company that is listed is very exciting!
So if you would like to give me your vote click here
I look forward to sharing Sofia’s 5th Birthday Party with you later in the week once I have sorted out the photos but couldn’t go past a few quick pictures of these beautiful balloons that are still floating around our house after the party!

I am off out for dinner tonight with the lovely girls from my mothers group.  Our dinner was scheduled to happen 5 weeks ago to celebrate the impending arrival of another little addition to the group – like all good plans, the dinner needed to be postponed as the new addition made a surprise arrival on the day of the said dinner!  Mum and bub are doing great so tonight we can toast to baby Joshua.  Joshua has now put the boys in the lead – between the six of us mums we have 6 girls and 7 boys.
If you follow my little blog you will know I love making special parcels look lovely and attaching pretty cards that I make myself – here is the little creation I have made for baby Joshua.

Inside the special parcel is a beautiful print by Janette from My Sweet Prints – her personalised alphabet print – J is for Joshua – such a great gift.

I am really looking forward to a nice relaxing night out with the girls before a big weekend which involves Sofia’s 5th birthday party.  Mr A has been in Europe for work all week so we can’t wait to welcome him home so we can have a lovely celebration for our little princess (and put him to work with fifteen 5 year olds!).
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend – see you next week.

Five years ago at 8am this morning my gorgeous little Sofia arrived in the world – our third daughter – she was so pretty she took our breath away – a tiny squidgy little thing weighing in at just 2.58kg.
Sofia Alexandra Ambrogio – a big name for a little girl – we were the proudest parents – relieved, excited and totally smitten.
Five years later and she is the cheekiest of our girls. The most determined, the most charming, the one with the sweetest tooth, the least willing to change her mind, the blondest, the most petite, the friendliest, the feistiest, the gigliest, the one that will have you wrapped around her little finger. The one who tests my patience more than the others but the cuddliest and most affectionate one – she is our “fia” and we love her just the way she is.
Happy Birthday my beautiful girl – may all your dreams come true.
xxxxx
