Thank you to everyone for joining in with last weeks birthday celebrations in the store!  I hope you managed to pick up a bargain during the week!

I know I am late with this post as I was supposed to announce the winner of the big birthday giveaway on Friday but instead I spent the day hanging out with two amazing people, Hailey and Rowe – both incredible photographers with so much knowledge to share with me!  On Saturday I then got to hang out at the launch of The Blog Society – lots of creative people in one room all with loads of questions and lots to chat about.

Feeling very inspired by all the photography talk I decided to forget my Friday blog post and spend some time with the family and my camera over the long weekend to see what I could capture so before I announce the winner just a few of my favourite shots from the weekend.

Today I have a gorgeous party feature for you from the talented Tracey Lau.  Tracey’s style is always impeccable and this party she held for her youngest daughter Bella a few weeks ago is no different.

Tracey says that even before Bella was born she wanted to create a pretty outdoor picnic for her 1st birthday.  On the day of the party it poured with rain so they had to postpone a few weeks and an autumn picnic was created.  I love the way that Tracey has used lots of fabric, simple packaging and pretty props to create this magical party.

Tracey is a wonderful chef & photographer so she filled the table with beautiful food for everyone to enjoy.  She also has the same passion as I do for photography and these images she has taken portray what is a magical afternoon celebrating with her gorgeous family.

Tracey did purchase a few of the packaging items on the table from the Sweet Style online store and I just love what she has done with them – the favour pail boxes look so pretty with the washi tape around top.

Today’s Monday Favourite feature is with someone whose style is unmistakable.  The type of person whose cakes you know instantly no matter where you see a photo of it.

I have been a long time admirer of Naomi’s beautiful work and have also been fortunate enough to have had her provide cakes at a number of parties I have worked on – her work is always flawless and tastes amazing.

Naomi began decorating cakes as a hobby and starting posting the photos of them to her flikr page about 6 years ago.

Her business, Hello Naomi which is based in Newcastle, NSW started a few years later, in 2009.  Naomi tell me that the most popular flavour of cake depends on her favourite at the time as most of her clients ask her to recommend one.  Belgian white chocolate and vanilla bean mud with dark chocolate ganache are currently very popular (and I can also vouch for her lemon merringue tarts) – so super delicious.
