A big week for birthdays in our house.  Today is Mr A’s birthday “hip hooray” and this week also marks the 4 year anniversary since I  starting blogging – what a journey it has been!  Things certainly have changed since I started my original Mrs A In The Cove Blog.  Life really is a journey and this blog is proof that the journey can go in different directions.

From the bottom of my heart thank you to everyone who has left comments, encouraged me and become wonderful virtual friends (and real life friends as well).

Time for some more cake I think!

P.S I don’t think I ever showed off this gorgeous cake that Jacki from Blissfully Sweet made for Sofia’s 6th birthday party last year! So pretty.

Today’s lovely Monday Favourite collection comes to us from Michelle from Sugablossom Cakes in Sydney.

Michelle has always loved cooking but making cakes and desserts has been close to her heart since spending time baking with my  grandfather when I was just a wee girl!

Michelle says:- Our wedding cake (10 years ago) looked good but tasted less than great and this definitely sparked my interest. I began collecting cake decorating books not long after that and when I finished up in the corporate world a few years ago, I just had to give it a go.

I have been in business since October 2010, it’s been a crazy rollercoaster ride but I’ve loved every minute of it.

My most popular flavour of cake by far is a White Choc Mud Cake filled with a mousse-like Raspberry & Lime Ganache. It reminds me of Wonka Redskins with the zing of lime zest at the end….I’m salivating just thinking about it!

One of my lovely customers Toni from Sweet Sugar Treats in Melbourne has sent through these gorgeous photos of a wedding with a difference.  Toni helped to create all the beautiful food in which the bride and groom stepped away from a traditional wedding cake and went for something whimsical and fairytale.

The table was set under a marquee on a large property with old trees filled with lanterns and a stream running close by.  The bride and groom asked for delicious bite size, pretty treats for their guests and it looks like everyone would have been thrilled with the spread!

Smash Cakes are gaining in popularity here in Australia and today I have the most adorable smash cake session to show you.

These beautiful shots were taken by Dragana from One Love Photography who wanted to capture the excitement of her beautiful daughter Mila in a room with a cake on her 1st birthday!  The various looks on little Mila’s face are priceless.  The stunning cake was created by Jacki from Blissfully Sweet Cakes!

Hope this makes you smile!
