A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of styling and photographing a party for Emma-Lee and her daughter Azaelee. Emma is the owner of Emma-Lee Cake Design and as you can see from the beautiful items on the table she is a master in the kitchen!

Together Emma and I decided on the themed after lots of back and forth on the email and looking at pinterest and other parties I had put together.  A baking themed seemed perfect seeing as Azaelee loves being in the kitchen with mum helping to bake and decorate.  We then spoke to Nicole from Pretty and Print for printables.  Nicole had designed these printables for a previous party so with a few colour changes we were able to match it in with Azaelee’s favourite colours.

The mini kitchen that we used as a prop on the day was a birthday gift for Azaelee and let me tell you Azaelee most certainly has her mothers decorating skills –  I have seen a five year old pipe frosting onto a cupcake like it before!  All the kids had a fabulous time creating mini masterpieces on cookies with edible markers and decorating cupcakes with frosting and sprinkles (some more sprinkles than frosting!).  They also made beautiful garlands to hang on the wall out of cupcake liners and doilies.

Here are a few of the many photos I took on the day – please see the list of lovely vendors at the bottom of the post. Thanks Emma and Azaelee for asking me to be part of your special day.

The venue for the party was also the perfect blank canvas for me to work with!  I do wish there were move fabulous simple spaces around like to create beautiful parties in.   The venue for this party was My Hullaballoo in Engadine, Sydney.

Earlier this week I attended the most wonderful and for me inspiring workshop.

A workshop that combined two of my greatest passions :: photography + organisation

There was so much more to the workshop though – the amazing hosts whose blogs I have followed, the incredible space in which we spent out day, lovely participants who were so enthusiastic to learn and fabulous food to keep us nourished all day.

I came away feeling energised to create even more beautiful memories for my family (and myself) and be even more on top of my photo organising systems than I already am : and I am a pretty obsessive organiser – just ask my family and friends.

The workshop was help by two amazing ladies – Trish and Ronnie.  Trish a photographer who loves documentary style shooting and Ronnie a graphic designer an amazing memory keeper who loves to document her life and share her systems with others.

The tips and tricks I learnt just fuelled my love of both photography and being organised.   With the number of photographs I take in a week on both my DSLR and my iPhone things can become overwhelming so just having some new ideas in place is wonderful.

I love sharing images from life with my family but all too often I feel as though too much time as passed so I have lost the moment to share them.  Hopefully I will now be able to share more regularly and enjoy the process!

If you would like more information about the Life Captured Workshops then visit Trish or Ronnie‘s blogs to find out more.  Here are some of my photos from our amazing day.

We also received a fabulous goody bag (which included something special from Sweet Style)! – so much loveliness in a cute calico bag!

Off for another photo filled weekend!  Hope you have a great one also.

So the latest party to take place in our house was back in June for Indi’s 4th Birthday and today I am excited to share with you the photos from her special day.

From the moment I saw these very cute invitations from Sarah of Style Me Gorgeous I knew one of our next parties in the house would revolve around the Sprinkles and Confetti Theme and the minute I suggested it to Indi she was hooked!

I had lots of fun dipping and sprinkling everything from bottles to marshmallows – lots of very simple food that was easy to eat for the kids with the special touch of the amazing cake and cookies by Hello Naomi.

As is now custom with our parties we keep the numbers small and intimate but have loads of special details that everyone gets to enjoy.  This party was no different with just 5 of Indi’s little pre-school friends coming along.  We had one of those horrific torrentially rainy days on Indi’s party day so I was a little thankful for the small numbers and our beautiful entertainer Phillipa from Fairy Fun who kept the girls completed mesmerised while they were here.  Phillipa has now been part of every one of my girls parties over the years and it was lovely to hear the party girls say to her at the end of the party “Please stay and play with us some more”!

Please enjoy the photos from Indi’s Birthday party – this list of suppliers is at the bottom of the post.

We celebrated another birthday in our house last weekend when my big girl Sienna turned 9!

No big fancy dessert table for this party as we took some of her lovely friends out to do some bowling on Sunday evening – nice and relaxed and easy.  We did however have a fun cake made by Cakes by Sharon and a very quick few photos (reluctantly may I say!) before we headed out!

Sharons cake was delicious – a vanilla mud cake with dark chocolate ganache – Yum!

Happy Birthday Sienna x
