Yesterday marked another year since we welcomed and farewelled our little Laura.

10 years … such a milestone that for some reason this year seemed so much bigger and tougher than other years.

I am not sure how to articulate the feelings of yesterday – a greater sense of sadness that as time passes her actual presence seems to much further away but also a feeling of gratefulness that we are not still coping with the day to day that comes in the hours, days and months following our loss.

10 years is such a lifetime really when we did only get to spend one full day with her – holding her, talking to her, trying to cram in as many memories as we could in to one short day.  The day will always play out vividly in my mind and while there was much sadness in the room there were also smiles and times of gratitude.

We celebrated at Laura’s special place on Sunday with cake and balloons as we always do.
The weather was magic and Sienna even brought her best friend Tess with us – just like at a real party!

The girls released a balloon each and we left a special “10” balloon and her birthday present by her headstone.

I am continually finding it harder and harder to chose between my favourite cake from each of the wonderful cake designers I feature each week so this week I am showing off two amazing cakes!

Today we are meeting Mignon from Cake Face in Melbourne who has created the two beauties you see below – they both have such an elegant style don’t they.

Min made her first fondant birthday cake for her son 10 years ago and has been in love with caking every since.
While her love of decorating started 10 years ago her full time business has been running now for 6 years.

I am also amazed every week that each person has a different top selling cake flavour.  Min’s biggest seller is the spice cake with salted caramel creme, followed closely by lemon coconut with passionfruit creme.  Mmm…

Vesna from One Lovely Day put together this gorgeous Vintage Wedding Dessert Table which includes loads of great details that I adore.
From the sweet touches of the typewriter and little signs to the gorgeous colour pallette that worked beautifully with the setting.  I must say all those clear cake stands look just stunning on this table.

The delicious sweet treats and cakes are by Dewi from Sweet Bloom Cakes and the Photography is by Digital Active.
Desserts included the beautiful buttercream cake, cupcakes, cake pops, lemon merringue tarts, chocolate tarts and macarons,

Additional tables included a savoury feast plus the drinks table with lovely drinks dispensers filled with cool drinks and little tubs of fruit created by the bride herself!

This gorgeous table by Maria from Style My Table caught our eye a few weeks ago and we thought it was perfect to show you how to Get the Look with all those delightful products you can find in the Sweet Style Store!  With lots of simple clean elements and such a pretty colour palette this table is a one of my favourites.  The stunning garland at the back of the table is by Dandy and Darling.
