Today we are meeting Catherine Russo from Sweet Empire in Melbourne.  Catherine specialises in beautiful desserts but also loves to make buttercream decorated cakes.  The photo of the cake below was made for her first official Sweet Empire event so it is really special to her.

As you can see from the dessert pictures her cake pops and desserts in a jar are just gorgeous!  Catherine’s passion for creating desserts started as a curious 6 year old, which was rekindled in her mid 20’s.  Instead of taking clients our to dinner, she would invite them over as she loved any excuse to bake and entertain.

Catherine is an interior designer having worked in the design and architectural field for 20 years but after creating a family decided to blend her two passions of baking and design together to create Sweet Empire just one year ago.

Sweet Empire specialises in cupcakes, macarons, and she is almost famous for cake pops, sweet tartlets and little desserts in pots.

Catherines most popular desserts are dark chocolate mint cake pops and little panna cotta’s in pots – they sound delicious!
