I am currently having a serious love affair with macaroons – not only do look just perfect but after a small sampling on the weekend I have realized just how yummy they are and have decided they are a definite for my next dessert table – now to source the ultimate macaroon by June – this could be a dangerous exercise!!
I love them too. I did try making them once (following a Nigella Lawson recipe) but they were a complete disaster I need to practice again I think. They always look so pretty in wonderful colours and flavours. Enjoy!
I have yet to try…but think they are oh, so lovely! I have bought everything to make them, but working on some courage! Have fun with the “research”! 🙂
Log onto Bakerella’s site. She has a fantastic explanation about a few simple, yet important, rules to follow when baking macarons. I followed her recipe to a ‘t’ and it worked fabulously! All the best!
Hi Leanne!
I’ve missed you! I’ve just read through all the posts that I’ve missed….you’ve been a busy girl. I’m totally with you on the macaron front. Pistachio being my favourite. I implored Simone from Bottom of the Ironing basket to go to Laduree when she was in Paris…and she did and had a wonderful time. My idea of heaven.
Thank you so much for all your lovely, encouraging comments. It’s been a pretty yuck time, but I’m hoping we’re over the worst of it. I appreciate your friendship, Leanne…thank you so much. Meredy xo.
I am thinking the same thing. I recently posted a recipe and pictures that I found on my blog. I am going to try it out in the next few weeks. Can’t wait to find our what your research and taste tests oncover. I am really exciting to find out what flavoring and colors to use.
