There is a wonderful trend for hanging lanterns at the moment – I am looking at using them at an event in a few weeks so I thought I would do a round up of some great images showing the wonderful use of these lanterns. I am quite partial to the lovely tissue pom poms I have used for my recent parties but this is a lovely alternative. What do you prefer Pom Poms or Lanterns?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thank you for your lovely comments this week.
I like them both, Leanne. Depending on the occasion they are lovely on their own, but have seen a mix of pom poms and paper lanterns.
Hope you are well and your event planning is going well.
Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Lanterns! For sure, so you can light them at night. I’m using some for a wedding in the Southern Highlands coming up. We’re going to put some in the trees to create an ‘aisle’.
Wow there’s some spectacular pics in that lot. I like a mix as well.
i do LOVE pom poms but I am loving the look of lanterns lately.
bought some at a $2 shop & looking forward to using them.
happy Friday to you Leanne.

Both are great but you can do more with lanterns. Fantastic inspirations! I love the the one with the twinkly lights.
P.S. Thank you for your sweet comment dear!

For boys pom poms are a no-no I think. For girls I like both, it depends on the general decor.

Ooooh, I just love the green and pink with the fairy lights, something to try for summer.
Some LOVELY example there Leanne x
Well, I usually prefer lanterns, but I love the examples you show here!
Have a great weekend!

I love both! Just one question though. You can fold up the lanterns and store them for another time but any suggestions as to what to do with poms? I made them for my eldest daughter’s birthday in July and wound up recycling them. I was a bit sad as they were really pretty but I just didn’t have a clue about how to store them…
Hi Leanna – love these lanterns, they look so sweet, always eye-catching in any display without being overwhelming. Perfect for a garden party…oh for the sun…where has it gone?! Lou x
Thanks, Leanne, for your response about the pom poms on my blog. 🙂
I always look forward to your blog posts as I did my teaching prac in Brisbane. I loved the four months I spent in Australia and miss the country so much!
Love these!! I think they add such a sense of class to all spaces.
Great blog!

Oh my gosh…I want to have a party!! The image with the green is stunning –
I just have to ask where you source your lanterns from?
I want some for my boys bedrooms for a splash of colour and can’t find them anywhere 🙁
