August 9, 2013

Friday has rolled around fast this week and so as I don’t forget our recent holiday to Fiji too fast here are a few more photos from our time away.

I had purchased a new lens to take away with me on this trip and so I had fun trying a few different things.  I usually like to use my 24-70mm zoom lens and while some of these shots are taken with that lens I also had the lovely 35mm fixed lens with me – it was great to step out of my comfort zone and play around with this lens which produces beautiful bokeh.

Here are this weeks favourites – sunshine, beaches, freshly plaited hair and most importantly relaxing with the family.

So now it is time to start dreaming about our next holiday – somewhere different I think next year!

  1. Oh my goodness Leanne! Your girls are so prettyy – those eyes!! And doesn’t Fiji just look everything I ever thought it would?! Gorgeous pictures and it looks like a very chilled and lovely family holiday. No pics of you though…were you camera shy?! It’s often the way though isn’t it that we are the one behind the lens! Lou

    1. Hi Rowena – we stayed at the Hilton on the mainland for the first few days and then Plantation Island for 7 days after that – the first few photos in this post are at the HIlton and the rest out on Plantation – if you look back at my previous Fiji holiday post that was all out on Plantation. Lots of fun.x

        1. HI Chantelle – you know Fiji is such a tricky place as it either 5 star and fabulous but pricey or 3 star and ok but fits the budget! This year was Plantation Island and last year we did Mana ISland – both similar in that they are great for the kids, very laid back, easy going but facilities are basic. The beaches are fabulous at both and the rooms are great but they don’t have the flash pools and the restaurants are nothing spectacular. There was definitely more eating option on Plantation as there is a few resorts on the one island which you can go to. With the mainland resorts this year we did Hilton and Last year we did Sheraton villas – Sheraton had the most amazing room but the pool was better at the HIlton – plenty of eating options on Denarau Island as all those resorts have fabulous restaurants. My advice is go to the islands first and then come back for some 5 start treatment before you head home!! I have heard good things about Malolo Is and Castaway Is so check them out as well. PS. Been voting for you! Yay Yay – hope you win xxx

      1. Thank you for that. I have researched my brain into a spin and lost the ability to make a decision. This helps 🙂
