Today I posted some pictures to my Sweet Style facebook page and had a lovely comment that this photo was a reminder of little lunch in primary school – “yes” I thought – the little bottles of milk that were delivered to school each day.

I seem to have been reminded of a few lovely childhood memories in the past few days – it started with the 30 day photography challenge I am participating in – Day 11 A Childhood Memory – it got me thinking, talking and searching. ย While searching through the toy box for my “childhood memory” items Sienna who is 6 and a half found an old mobile phone in the bottom of the box – “mummy was this yours when you were a little girl” – “When I was a little girl all the phones were attached to the wall and you couldn’t go walking around with them” was my response – she laughed – “were you born in the olden days!”

Boy how each generations childhood memories are different – and how in the blink of an eye I appear to now be from the “olden days” – do you have a fond childhood memory to share? ย I would love to hear about it.

  1. You’ve just reminded me of a childhood memory! I went to primary school in QLD till year 3 and we called it “Little Lunch” & “Big Lunch” moved to Perth and had to change to Recess & Lunch. It just reminded of those innocent childhood days hearing it referred to as Little Lunch! So cute! I too am doing the 30 Day Photography Challenge, I’m loving it! I also do Project Life, so it’s a nice little diversion for the month of June! Aswell as 2 of my 4 kids birthday’s in June! Thankyou for the little trip down memory lane Leanne!!!

  2. I used to call them “Little Lunch” and “Big Lunch” too ๐Ÿ˜€

I still remember my kindy orientation. My mum bought me lunch from the school canteen – it was a pie and a little orchy cup of juice, with the foil lid. But instead of peeling back the foil she stabbed the straw through it and I remember it being the coolest thing! Anytime I get juice on a plane I remember my kindy orientation.

Pineapple juice also reminds me of the morning tea trolley at preschool. They served it every day. Ahhh, beautiful memories Leanne. Thank you.

  3. OMG we also use to call it ‘little lunch’ & ‘big Lunch’,i remember other kids thinking whats that in you sandwich,Mum use to make me Halloumie Cheese and Cucumber sandwiches, pretty hip now but not in 1978 lol.I remember the smell of crayola crayons, playing Donky Kong, listening to Albums and watching Paul Hogan Show and of course Don Lane lol.Theres so much more i could go on and on .Great post Leanne, you have us all thinking now ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Ah the “olden days”! I find that I use a bunch of outdated idioms and the kids that I teach have no idea what I mean. At least they ask me what I mean! “Don’t come the raw prawn with me kiddo! I didn’t come down in the last shower, you know?” Haha.

  5. I live those little bottles.Did you order those online in Australia?…thay are soo too cute ๐Ÿ™‚
