January 1, 2013

I can’t make it through the first day of the year without popping in to say hi and happy new year!

January 1 is fast becoming one of my most favourite days of the year.  The busy-ness of Christmas is over. The New Years Eve celebrations with wonderful friends and family are done and it is a day to relax with Mr A and the girls in the pool.   The Sydney weather has been amazing for the past few days so the warm days and perfectly still evenings have been relaxing and revitalising.

I love the feeling a new year brings.  Time to take stock of all that happened in the year just gone and plan for the year ahead.  New possibilities.  The opportunity to change what didn’t work from the year before and dream big for the year ahead.

I am particularly proud of the fact that December 31 saw the completion of my very first ever photoaday challenge.
For those who have been following along here or via instagram you will have seen my year in photos as I posted them.  What started as a let me see if I can do a photoaday for January turned into 365 days of what was a wonderful experience.  I know I have said it regularly but it really does make you stop and appreciate the simple, the everyday but at the same time challenge you to come up with creative ways to express yourself!

2012 has been a big year for me discovering so much more about my passion and enjoyment for photography and it has made me realise that I want it to continue to be a big part of my life – I still have so much to learn but the beauty of photography is that practicing to find the perfect shot is half the fun!

2012 has also been a  big year for the development of Sweet Style – I am so proud of how it has grown and what it has become but also keen for a few weeks of reassessment so I can make decisions on the direction I take Sweet Style in 2013.

So today I share with you the shots from my December photoaday challenge plus my favourite shot of the girls on Christmas morning before they opened their gifts.
A new photoaday challenge has kicked off today so I will once again begin saying lets see how January goes…

Wishing you all a wonderful, healthy and successful 2013.
