Good Morning everyone.  I hope you weekend was fun?  I had a huge weekend with our annual school fair that I co-ordinated so in catch up mode this week.  To keep us motivated for the week I have some really beautiful cakes to show you today by Vivienne from Bespoke Cakes in Melbourne.

I asked Viv to let use know about how she came to be involved in the cake industry, starting her business and the all important question about the most popular flavour of cake and here is what she told me:-

“I have always loved to bake and so decorating came as a natural progression 5 years ago. The more people saw my cakes, the more I would get asked, so I started the business Bespoke Cakes in February  2011.  The most popular flavour is White chocolate raspberry swirl mud , followed closely by ferrero rocher mud cake, which has actual ferrero rocher chocolates crushed and stirred through the batter and the ganache filling.”

I must says those flavours have my mouth watering!

I am a little late with my Monday Favourite this week after a busy weekend away with the family – I do however have some amazing cakes to show you this week by Michelle who is The Cake Chef.  Michelle’s business is located in Newcastle, New South Wales and just take a look at some of her beautiful work.

Michelle is a qualified Chef & passionate foodie.  She discovered fondant cakes nearly 4 years ago when she did a course to learn how to make prettier cakes for her 3 kids.  Immediately addicted to the world of cakes she has since completed her Masters in cake decorating and loves teaching others.

The Cake Chef started 3 years ago and Michelle’s favourites are wedding cakes – she loves the beauty and elegance.

And for her most popular flavour – dark chocolate mud with salted caramel ganache and lemon poppy seed mud with lemoncello ganache.

Please visit Michelle’s website here and her facebook page here.

Happy Monday to everyone – I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  The beginning of spring here in Australia and such a beautiful weekend it was.  Today we are meeting Nicci from Frosted by Nicci.  It is great to see so much new talent out there in the cake world – you may remember the gorgeous yellow cake Nicci made from the recent Australia’s Sweetest Morning Tea – you can see it below.

Here is what Nicci had to tell me about her new and growing business.

I have always loved baking but probably about 2 years ago I enrolled in a cake class and everything just sky-rocketed from there!  I also have 2 other crazy cake friends (we call ourselves the crazy cake ladies!), and when the three of us are together….!  The passion has always been there but has really come along over the last 12 months.  I so much enjoy putting every ounce of my being into every cake that walks out my door, I truly truly love it!

My business has come together in the last 6 months.  I’ve had certain ideas in my head for a long time, like my logo, etc which I waited for over 12 months to get done by Sarah at Style Me Gorgeous.  I knew exactly what I wanted so just had to wait till she had a spare spot!  I’m very excited about the next 6 months, as my dates seem to be booking up very quickly (squeal!)

Nicci’s most popular cake so far would have to be white mud with chocolate mud close behind.
