The week before we scooted off on our family holiday to Fiji our beautiful little Indi turned three.  This year we decided on a small family party with grandparents and immediate family – I love little intimate parties – the birthday girl still feels special and loved and the centre of attention but it is without the craziness and stress of watching over lots of little people meaning more time to give the undivided attention.
I themed Indi’s special day around one of her favourite toys – the miniture kitchen. We have had this pretty little kitchen for a few years and it has provided countless hours of entertainment for my girls.  Indi loves to pretend to cook and bring me food and drink so a little party that centred around the kitchen was perfect.
Jacki from Blissfully Sweet Cakes made the perfect cherry on top cake which was inspired by Hello Naomi’s very cute version. The matching cookies are also just adorable and my favourite cookies to date!  I kept the colour palette to pretty pastels to match the kitchen and added little mini jars of pastel sixlets along with marshmallows and cake pops.

Many thanks to Annabelle and Jane for featuring Indi’s little party in the latest gorgeous edition of Fete Press Magazine – see more of this amazing online magazine by clicking on the link below.

It appears that I have a crush for all things on a jade milk cake stand!  My pinterest board has been filled with lots of pretty cakes all sitting proudly on one of these beauties.
Enjoy some Monday favourites (and if you would like your own Jade cake stand you can buy it here.)!
On a small side note – I have endeavoured to trace back all of my Pinterest pins to find original sources for these cakes – if I have made an incorrect link please email me and I will correct it immediately – I know all too well how frustrating it is when incorrect links are given to my work so I ask that we all try and pin from original sources or at least leave the correct links on our pinterest boards.

I have been showing off the gorgeous tassel garland that Bianca from Blush Loves Mint made for me for the recent orange and purple candy table that I put together (you can see it here).  Bianca has the prettiest products that are just the perfect addition to any party.  The garlands are so versatile and can be used as a backdrop, hung on the front of a table or even hung on the ceiling.
Her balloon frills are also pretty cute and make a plain old balloon look ever so exciting.

Today Bianca is giving one lucky reader the opportunity to win one of these great 1.2m tassel garlands valued at $50 for their next party.
All you have to do is enter you name via the rafflecopter entry box below and leave a comment on this blog post to let us know which colour combination is your favourite from the fabulous range.
Look how many there are to choose from!
Please also pop onto the Blush Loves Mint Facebook page here and tell them you are visiting from Sweet Style!
The winner will be drawn on Friday 24th August and announced on the blog that day.
Entries are only open to Australian residents.

I had a great time putting together this cute and fresh candy table for a 30th birthday celebration recently.
The great colour combination of the orange and purple together gave the fun element that the birthday girl Stephanie was after and the beautiful cake with a very pretty flower on top by Hello Naomi gave us the elegance that we wanted as well.
The fabulous tassel garland backdrop was made by Bianca at Blush Loves Mint whose products I just adore.
Toffee Bon Bons, purple sixlets, chocolate beans in orange and purple, rock candy sticks and marshmallows completed the sweet selection.Such a fun party table!

You can find inspiration in everything and if you can’t then look again
~ Paul Smith ~

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to spend the day at the very first class held by renown stylist Megan Morton at her new amazing studio in Roseberry called “The School”.

Megan spent the day with 30 women who were all there because of their love of beautiful things.  She had some incredible knowledge to impart on us and we all left a little more inspired and eager to get home and make more things look pretty!  She showed us through her amazing portfolio, gave us great tips on the Science of styling – why things work and why some things just don’t!  She told us about incredible and inspirational books that have helped her one of which I have taken the quote above from – it rang true with me as I certainly believe that there is inspiration in everything we do we just need to open our eyes to it.
There are a number of great workshops being held by both Megan and some other fabulous women at The School which you can check out here.  Her location is also next to the fabulous Koskela and Kitchen by Mike (who incidentally fed us for the day!) plus it is the location for her fabulous props hire warehouse “The Propery” – so much to see and do in one location.
Here are a few of my iphone snaps from the day.
